The courts reopened after resurfacing work in 2025 and continue to host clinics and tournaments through New Albany Parks and Recreation. There is no fixed daily open play schedule published for the complex, so it is especially useful when you already have partners or are attending a scheduled program. See New Albany Pickleball Complex information.

NewGen has eight indoor pickleball courts and year-round programming. Daily open play includes general sessions, skill-based DUPR sessions, 55+ play, themed play, and beginner open play. A Clear Start for Beginners
New players should start at NewGen Racquet Club. Its free Intro to Pickleball class runs Saturdays from noon to 1:00 PM. No experience or equipment is required. The club also offers beginner open play with an instructor on court to guide games and answer questions, giving a new player a direct next step after the introductory class. See beginner classes and clinics.
Players looking for other individual instruction can also use the Coaches section.
Open Play, Clinics and Tournaments
NewGen provides the most dependable recurring organized play near Sunbury. Open play runs daily, with general, skill-based, beginner, 55+, and themed sessions available through the club schedule. Beginner and intermediate clinics are also offered several times each week. See the current open play schedule.
New Albany Parks and Recreation uses its 16-court complex for clinics and larger events. The complex hosted the 2026 Summer Slam Pickleball Tournament in July and continues to serve as a regional destination for organized outdoor pickleball. See current New Albany pickleball information.
Where a Visitor Can Find a Game
If you are visiting Sunbury alone, make the short trip to NewGen Racquet Club and register for an open play session. Sessions run daily, no partner is needed, and non-members can participate with a free guest account. Beginner open play is available for newer players who want a more guided rotation.
If you already have partners and prefer outdoor play, the 16 public courts at the New Albany Pickleball Complex are the stronger nearby choice. Sunbury itself does not currently have a documented public pickleball court or recurring drop-in session to rely on.
